Product Description:
Povidone-iodine, also known as betadine, is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection before and after surgery. The solution is what is called iodophor in mainland China. It can be used to disinfect the skin of patients and the hands of medical staff, for minor wounds, and can be applied to the skin in the form of liquid or powder. Side effects include skin irritation. If applied to large wounds, poor renal function may cause hypernatremia and metabolic acidosis. It is not recommended for people who are less than 32 weeks pregnant or who take lithium salts.
