This product is a cross-linked, water-insoluble homopolymer synthesized from N-ethyl-2-pyrrolidone. The molecular formula is (Q K N O h, where n represents the average number of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone chains. Calculated as anhydrous, the nitrogen (N) should be 11.0%~12.8%.

Physical properties:

This product is white or almost white powder; it is almost odorless; it is hygroscopic. This product is insoluble in water, ethanol, chloroform or ether. This product has high capillary/water content, large specific surface, strong hydration capacity (HK: 5.6), high and rapid water absorption (58.5%), strong water swelling capacity, swelling coefficient of 2.25-2.30, and polyethylene Pyrrolidone has the same complexing ability and can complex a variety of substances, such as phenols and iodine.

Application:

This product is white or colorless powder, odorless or slightly characteristic odor, basically tasteless, insoluble in water, alkali, acid and organic solvents. It has hygroscopicity and water absorption. It dissolves and swells after absorbing water, but does not form a gel; after absorbing water, the molecular chain stretches and the volume increases rapidly, and the expansion pressure can cause the tablet to disintegrate rapidly.

This product has the same complexing properties as soluble povidone, and can form complexes with compounds containing hydroxyl, carbon and amino groups, thereby changing the solubility, odor, toxicity and other physical properties of the compound.
