Product Description:

Vinylpyrrolidone-Copolymer (NVP) is an organic compound consisting of a 5-membered lactam linked to a vinyl group. It is a colorless liquid although commercial samples can appear yellowish. It is produced industrially by vinylation of 2-pyrrolidone, i.e. the base-catalyzed reaction with acetylene.

Physical properties:

It is a colorless to light yellow liquid at room temperature, easily soluble in water, formaldehyde and many other organic solvents, and crystallizes below 13°C. N-vinylpyrrolidone is chemically active and easily hydrolyzed and polymerized.

Application:

Vinylpyrrolidone-Copolymer is widely used in adhesives, textiles, UV coatings, pharmaceuticals and other industries. It is also commonly used to produce homopolymers and copolymers that require good film-forming properties, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone series products.
